This wholegrain bread is made from 100% local organic rye and baked with our tradition three-stage natural sourdough. It is strong and succulent- a product of the masterly art of baking. PEMA means Lotus Flower in Tibetan: the lotus flower is the symbol of purity, making it the perfect name for our additive-free breads. PEMA wholegrain rye bread has remained unchanged: rye, water, a little salt – and nothing else. Our company is founded upon the region’s traditions and culture. Our objectives are based upon simplicity and harmony: achieving them, however, is anything but simple. In as much as we live for tradition, we also love innovation. The traditional processing of our rye and the production of our bread takes place using modern technology combined with continuous technical development. Our company was established in the Fichtel Mountains. Our products are derived from the raw materials the region provides us with: we respect and honour this relationship.
