This cheese has deservedly won several high awards at annual international competitions. Organic feta cheese with protected designation of origin (PDO) is made from fresh, pasteurized, 100% Greek organic sheep and goat milk. It is produced according to AGROCERT specifications for feta cheese. After a maturation period of at least 60 days, MENIKIO feta is aged in natural brine to preserve its aroma and unique taste. MENIKIO Farm. The feed storage, livestock and production facilities are located in the Prosotsani Valley, under the shadow of Mount Menikio. The farm was named after this mountain. The location was not chosen by chance. Not only because of the rich and fertile soil, but also because of the constant breeze of fresh air from the canyon, which directs the wind, creating a natural ventilation system. But the biggest advantage of this livestock complex is that it is surrounded by 25 acres of the farm’s own organic grass field, where the sheep and goats are free to roam and graze as the weather and time permits, protected in a safe environment. This ensures a stable and sustainable production of high-quality organic milk.
